Virtual Vision Boards

January 23, 2021 on Zoom

Envision and empower your 2021 dreams for health, love, & prosperity. What can you imagine for this year?  What would you like to create and attract?

The struggle of 2020 is now behind us.

But we cannot see what is ahead of us.

Which of our dreams will come true in 2021?

What could we create?

The possibilities are endless and rich. Let's sit together and imagine what it might look like, what it might feel like to have it all - to have it all our way.

What images and words might capture those emotions, those feelings you want to experience?

Journaling and reflecting beforehand about the things and feelings you want to keep from 2020 and the things and feelings you want to add in 2021 will add power to your intentions.

You will need:

In Love With Painting

February 20, 2021 on Zoom

Here is my secret. It’s quite simple: One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.

―Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Inspired by the work of pop artist Jim Dine and the symbol for February let’s create a heart-based artwork together.

This virtual class is an excellent place to start experimenting with abstract painting techniques, especially if you have a fear of abstract painting or you haven’t painted in a long time. The heart shape provides a simple structure that defines the composition while allowing you the freedom to fill the painting surface in a multitude of different ways and to try new creative techniques, just as Jim Dine has done.

This class is appropriate for all ages and all painting levels.

You will need:

  • Acrylic paint (or tempera paint) – basic colors including black.

  • 16” x 20” Canvas or canvas board

  • Paintbrushes in varied sizes

  • Palette for mixing paint (Can use a white plate)

  • Tape

  • Water jar

  • 16” x 20” heavy paper

  • Scissors

  • Apron

  • Wet wipes/ paper towels

Chakra Touchstones

March 20, 2021 on Zoom

In Love with Painting Zoom Workshop.png
Eventbrite Painted Chakra Touchstones Zo

In this month’s Cr8V Soul Crafternoon we will be painting sacred chakra touchstones to open and balance our energy.

A touchstone is an amulet you hold in your hand to enhance positive energy.

Chakras are seven spinning vortices of life force energy that span the length of the human spine.  These colored wheels cannot be seen by the human eye—but they can be seen, felt, and sensed through our intuition. The invisible life force housed in our Chakras is called "Chi" or "Prana," and it helps to keep us vibrant, healthy, and alive. Each Chakra is associated with a place on the body as well as a specific set of physical and emotional energies and a specific color.

This class is appropriate for all ages and all painting levels.

You will need:

  • 7 small smooth rocks (can be painted before class with red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, dark blue, violet) or one large rock

  • Posca Fine Point Acrylic Paint Markers (Black, White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green Turquoise, Dark Blue, Violet)

  • Paper towels or wet wipes

  • Apron & gloves

  • Snacks & beverages

Yantras are the visual embodiment of an audible, vibratory mantra. They are geometric symbols imbued with a color and shape frequency that contains the energy pattern of a deity or planet.   Yantras are used in meditation as a centering device and when finished to breathe the desired energy into the space of your home or office.

This sacred class will begin with an invocation of the feminine energy of Venus to open ourselves to the five senses of sight, sound, scent, taste, and touch.  We will color a Venus/Bliss Yantra as shown above. Meditation on this yantra transports you into a blissful state. This design stimulates the feminine impulse of creativity and the play of the senses.  This yantra connects you to your heart center through love, beauty, and the arts.  It's an excellent choice if you feel the need to reconnect with the sensuous, and sensory aspects of your life.

The sound vibration for Bliss is: Om Shum Shukraya Namaha.

Investment: $50

Cupcake Experience

December 2020 Event:

Winter Solstice Moonlight

FB Sized May Zoom Painting Workshop.png

May is my celebration month.  There is mother’s day, my birthday, the arrival of spring flowers, the end of the school year… so much to celebrate.  And what better way to celebrate than with a few hours dedicated to the appreciation of the beauty and deliciousness of cupcakes!

Inspired by the work of Wayne Thiebaud we will use thick paint to contrast the shape, color, and texture of a cupcake with a simple background and plate.  This month we will learn about the art concepts of complementary warm and cool colors, impasto, and halation.  I am hard-pressed to think of anything more sweet and joyous than painting, appreciating, and sharing my love of cupcakes with you.

Materials for this event are available if you live in the Fort Lauderdale area.  I will drop off a bag containing everything you need (including the cupcake!) to you the day before for an additional cost of $40 per person.   Please reach out at least one week in advance (May 22) so I can get everything together and delivered to you.

You will need:

  • Acrylic paint – basic colors.

  • 10" x 10” Canvas or canvas board

  • Paintbrushes in varied sizes

  • A palette for mixing paint (Can use a white plate)

  • Water jar

  • Apron

  • Wet wipes/ paper towels

  • Beautiful Cupcake

Winter Solstice Painting.png

In the quiet moonlight, l contemplate this year of 2020. Where we started, where we arrived, and where we may go. The turning of the seasons, the birth/death cycles of nature continue undaunted by massive health, financial, and social upheavals around the planet. Once again we pass through the dark, cold night of hibernation, dream time, and incubation. Our fire turns down to embers glowing in the dark. pulsating, waiting, asking for faith. While we cannot alter the past or nature’s seasons we can change our minds, our intentions, and visions for the future. Let us acknowledge the peace of this longest night of the year by creating a moonlit painting that enlivens our faith in the restorative power of darkness and mystery.

Gather your favorite painting supplies and join me to paint a moonlit night scene together over Zoom.
